5 Reasons to Celebrate Romance in Grenada

Everyone dreams of being able to say they’ve found that special person.  What many overlook, is that it helps when they are situated in a place that will help their love to blossom.  There are loads of beautiful locations that you can choose from, but the tiny islands of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique oozes the perfect blend of ingredients to make your love life go from alright to wow in minutes.  Here’s five reasons why you must celebrate your love with us.

Location, Location, Location
One of the perks of being located in the Southern Caribbean is that its always summer here even during the rainy season.  A few scattered showers here and there are never consistent enough to spoil your plans especially when you’re on an island as beautiful as ours.  It’s also really easy to get here.  With direct flights from the US, UK, Canada, Germany, and the rest of the Caribbean islands, Grenada is certainly within your reach.

How Much You Can Do
If you two love exploring new destinations, Grenada will not disappoint.  Many couples enjoy our turtle watching tours between April and the end of June when hundreds of leatherback turtles come ashore to give birth.  River tubing is also a great option as you can hold hands and enjoy nature as the water carries you along.  If you’re craving a little privacy, you can check out any one of our 18 gardens for a tour.  Don’t underestimate what unfolds on these captivating grounds, as they are the reason Grenada now holds 12 gold medals from the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

The Places You can See
Most times when we travel, we visit one destination.  When it comes to the tri island state of Grenada, you have the opportunity to visit three islands in one vacation.  A 20-minute plane ride or 2-hour cruise will take you to the island of Carriacou, which is well known for its unique culture, and amazing reef dives.  Petite Martinique on the other hand is so unique that it is only accessible by boat.  The sister isles are extremely popular for their boat building and one of a kind traditional wedding.  Whichever you choose to explore, each island will make you want to turn off your email notifications and leave your watch behind.

The Bragging Rights You Leave With
If you’ve never been to Grenada, your experience here can sometimes sound like a fairy tale to others.  On the sister isle of Petite Martinique for example, traditional weddings include a two week celebration that involves dancing through the streets with the cake.  The entire community is involved and if you would love to have an extra-ordinary wedding, all you have to do is ask and it can be arranged.  Getting married underwater is also an option.  Conducted just off the coast of mainland Grenada, couples can say ‘I Do’ amongst witnesses like hawksbill turtles, seahorses, colourful reefs and the deep blue sea.  Discussions like these will certainly make you the envy of your colleagues.

What Others are Saying
Now we understand that all this may sound too good to be true and this is exactly why you don’t have to take our word for it.  Here’s what Canadian visitor Jason Eaton and his girlfriend Sarah Marotta had to say after spending a seven-day holiday in Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinque.  "Many things blossom on the Island of spice, including romance.  #MyCaribbeanRomance in #PureGrenada really took root at Paradise Beach in Carriacou.  It is hard to beat having one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean all to yourself, and to share that moment with the one you love."
