43rd Spice Island Billfish Tournament

Event Description

Held during the last week of January, the Spiceisle Billfish Tournament gives anglers the opportunity to catch a piece of the action in some of the Caribbean's best game fish waters. In 2012 the Budget Marine Spice Island Billfish Tournament celebrates its 43rd anniversary with 4 days of fishing and 4 days of fun-filled activities from January 25th to 29th.

The tournament follows the IGFA rules and operates on a tag and release system. Eligible species for tournament points are Blue Marlin, White Marlin and Yellowfin Tuna. Wahoo and Dolphin (Mahi Mahi) are also accepted, but for weight prizes only. Points are deducted for underweight fish.

Since 2002 this has been a qualifying tournament for the Rolex/GFA Offshore Championship.
