LEAVING THE GREAT NORTH FOR GRENADA AND CARRIACOU

Getting to Grenada is no more complicated than getting anywhere else in the Caribbean. Canadian travelers transit through Toronto or Montreal in order to get to Grenada. Air Canada and a number of charter airlines offer daily flights to Toronto from most airports in Canada.

When flying to Point Salines International Airport in Grenada, travelers who are not on a direct flight have to change planes in Bridgetown, Barbados or Port of Spain, Trinidad. From either of theses airports it is just a quick flight to Grenada on either Liat or Caribbean Star.

There are restrictions as to the amount of luggage and the size of carry-on baggage. Each airline has a different policy. Contact your carrier directly for this information.

Departure tax from Grenada approximately US$20.00. Many airports levy a departure tax.
These fees run in the $20 - $30 USD range.

All Canadian citizens require a valid passport and return (or onward) ticket is required to enter Grenada. However, proof of citizenship bearing a photograph is acceptable from Canadian, British, and U.S. citizens, if accompanied with a copy of your birth certificate.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE IN GRENADA

Upon arrival in Grenada, you may wish to explore Grenada's sister islands of Carriacou or Petite Martinique. Regardless of where and how you are traveling, most hotels in Grenada, Carriacou or Petite Martinique can assist you with obtaining flight, catamaran or ferry schedules and reservations.


TRAVELING TO CARRIACOU

AIR
Canadians visiting Carriacou for the day or longer, can fly to Carriacou with SVG AIR that runs daily flights from Grenada to Carriacou. Flying time is twenty minutes and all flights depart from Point Salines International Airport and arrive at Lauriston Airport in Carriacou.

BOAT
For those who prefer taking the scenic route, The Osprey runs daily from Grenada. The trip is only 90 minutes from port to port. If you are feeling adventurous, and not in any particular hurry, you can always hop on board the mail boat to Carriacou. This ferry takes approximately three to four hours to make the crossing but is about half the price of taking the motorized catamaran or the plane.


TRAVELING TO PETITE MARTINIQUE

Petite Martinique is accessible only by boat. This tiny island is only a twenty minute boat ride from Carriacou and less than two hours from Grenada. There are twice daily catamaran trips from Carriacou to Petite Martinique.
