Airport Facilities
The Maurice Bishop International Airport is Grenada’s only airport and is located on a peninsula at the south western section of the island. It is the most southern of the Windward Islands in the Caribbean and is located 7 miles from the capital of St. George. Operating hours are 6am to 10:30pm or 1000 to 0230 UTC. However upon request, additional hours can be made available.
In addition, private Aircrafts are authorized use of the airport when requested. These appeals can be made through the Grenada Airports Authority, Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc and the International Aircraft Management in Barbados. Additional requirements and services provided to these private aircrafts are outlined below.
Charters
A permit is required for regular charters. These cost a total of EC$1000 and are valid for a period of 1 year. However, a waiver of this fee is given to ad hoc charters.
Security Services
The airport operates with international standard security services. These include modern X-ray scanners, manual screening devices, security personnel and additional persons from the Royal Grenada Police Force. However, no hangers are currently available but additional security can be provided upon request.
Overnight Parking
Overnight parking is available but this must be indicated in the request. The ability to park an aircraft overnight depends on the Airport’s present available capacity.
Refuelling Services
Aircraft refuelling services can be provided upon requests.
Cleaning Services
Cleaning services can be provided upon requests. These services include the cleaning of linens, containers among other items.
Other Services
If requested, ground transportation for passengers and crew can be provided along with catering services and meet and greets.
