The mountainous terrain
of Grenda gives rise to some fascinating waterfalls. Annandale
Falls sit on the outskirts of St. Georges and are easily
accessible. Restroom facilities are available and refreshments
can be purchased from nearby shops.
Concord
Valley is host to the three picturesque waterfalls known collectively
as the Concord Falls. The first stage is easily accessible
by road and is ideally suited for swimming. The second and
third stages, known as Au Coin and Fontainbleu respectively
are only accessible by foot, but well worth the journey. At
Fontainbleu, the water cascades down a 65 foot cliff into
a crystal clear pool.
Also known
as the Marquis Falls, the Royal Mt. Carmel Falls
are the highest on the island, with two falls cascading over
70 feet into the pools below. These falls are well established
and accessible by road. Please note there is an entrance charge
of $1.00 US per person.
The Seven Sisters
are a series of falls located close to the forest reserve
in Grand Etang. Accessible only by foot, these falls are worth
the half hour walk through the rain forest. However the falls
are on private property, so a guide is recommended.
Victoria
Falls
Located at
the foothills of Mount St. Catherine in St. Mark, the Victoria
waterfall is accessible only by foot.
